Advocacy
Our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access Specialists coordinate projects to assist state, local, and federal agencies, public agencies and organizations, and private entities in making their services accessible to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Their aim is to provide advocacy services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals to help eliminate communication barriers or accessibility issues in their workplace, community, or home. We also provide training for local businesses and public service providers in an effort to improve the experiences of deaf employees, clients, and constituents.
DAC’s Access Specialists are contracted with the Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Our services include:
- Current information related to workplace accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing employees
