Senior Citizen Operations Program

Deaf Action Center operates a Senior Citizens program to support elderly deaf and hard of hearing residents in North Texas. The purpose of the Senior Citizen Outreach Program (SCOP) is to promote the health and wellbeing of deaf and hard of hearing seniors by providing engaging activities and direct support to them.

Our services are offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (excluding some holidays).

This program is made possible through a wide variety of support from both the public and private sector, including:

  • Texas Department on Aging
  • Texas Health and Human Services Commission – Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
  • Dallas Area Agency on Aging
  • Dallas County Older Adult Services

Hot Lunches

A healthy, well-balanced meal is available every weekday afternoon in the Martha’s Vineyard Place café to those participating in our Senior Citizens program. This gives seniors the opportunity to engage with each other while enjoying meals planned by a certified nutritionist.
