Specialized Telecommunication Assistance Program (STAP)
STAP is one of our most popular programs here at DAC that unfortunately comes with a long wait time. We have seen the feedback from our community members and are currently implementing a new service model to make sure clients are informed and prepared when applying for STAP.
We have recently hired a STAP Coordinator, Autumn Hatch, to help alleviate the stress and confusion in the process of applying for the program. Autumn’s role is to schedule application times, review applications for accuracy, and field calls about wait times and status updates for vouchers. The STAP Certifier, formerly known as the STAP Specialist, is the person who meets with clients to help them apply for the program and certifies that the application has been completed by an eligible applicant. We are confident the combination of these two roles will lead to clearer communication and better understanding for clients on how to apply, when they can expect to receive their voucher, and how to exchange it for an accessible device. Cheers to process changes that lead to better outcomes for our clients!
