I have a passion for helping the hearing impaired and Deaf, especially young people. I was born with nerve deafness and was mainstreamed in the public school system. After graduating from Kansas State University I moved to Dallas and started my career with a large, global Information Technology company. It was the advent of digital technology that changed my life. At the age of 30, I was fitted with digital programmable hearing aids and for the first in my life I could hear and understand words being said without lipreading.I joined the Deaf Action Center in 2015 so that I can help others like me. I want people to know they can do anything they want in life regardless of a disability. I want to ensure that people with hearing challenges have access to education, resources and support to help them live better lives.
