We cannot start 2021 without first thanking all of you for your support in 2020. DAC would not be here today, ready to provide A.C.E. services to the deaf and hard of hearing community, without you. Consider this our personal letter of thanks to you.
As stay-at-home orders began last spring, many of you immediately thought of our seniors. Our food pantry was inundated with food items to keep our most vulnerable seniors well fed. Rare items such as eggs, milk, and meat were distributed to the doorsteps of anxious seniors whose frowns turned to smiles as they saw how well you cared for them.
We received our first donation of masks in May, and you continued to provide us with valuable PPE throughout the summer and into the fall. Clear masks, face shields, and homemade masks filled our conference rooms. It warmed our hearts to know that our supporters were concerned for our health and took the time and energy to provide us with these vital resources.
ASL interpreters and CART providers who offered pro-bono services allowed us to respond to emergency situations while saving precious funds. Additionally, the monetary gifts that came in through our COVID-19 call for donations and North Texas Giving Day helped to carry us through the year. To top it all off, we received some beautifully written holiday cards for the seniors living at Martha’s Vineyard Place.
2020 was a difficult year for many people around the world. DAC was fortunate enough to have the love and support of our staff, board, donors, and community members to help us move forward in our work. Thank you for all that you’ve done! We know that 2021 will be a success with you by our side.
