A Half Century of Impact
50 Years of Impact
Celebrating fifty years of Deaf access services to the Dallas community.
An evening to reflect on the powerful legacy of service that has shaped our past and invest in our future.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as Deaf Action Center presents its annual gala, 50 Years of Impact. This formal celebration brings together community leaders, advocates, and supporters to reflect on the powerful legacy of service that has shaped our past and to invest in the future we are building together.
Guests will enjoy an inspiring program highlighting the transformative impact of our work, uplifting stories from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and opportunities to deepen your connection to our mission. The evening will feature a curated dining experience, live entertainment, and meaningful moments that honor those who have helped advance access, equity, and opportunity.
Make your plans now to join Honorary Chair Kevin Carr, CODA and owner of Dallas’s own award-winning Community Beer Co., and Heather Hughes, DAC Executive Director, as we celebrate fifty years of Deaf access services to the Dallas community — a historical narrative, past success stories, and the areas of focus for the next fifty years.

DAC Gala Dress Code
Cocktail attire – Dressy, but no tuxedos or gowns required. Think polished! For example:
Women: a cocktail dress, dressy jumpsuit, or elegant separates (silk blouse with a tailored skirt or trousers). Knee-length to midi works well; floor-length is fine but not expected. Dressy flats or heels.
Men: a suit or sport coat with dress trousers, collared dress shirt, and dress shoes. A tie is optional but encouraged; a tuxedo is not necessary.
Avoid: jeans, T-shirts, athletic wear, flip-flops, and overly casual sneakers. Also skip full ball gowns and black-tie formalwear, which can make guests feel mismatched.
Guests are welcome to express personal style and able to wear cultural or religious attire. Comfort and confidence are encouraged. If you have questions about the dress code, please contact Cori at events@dactexas.org
